A while ago I came to the conclusion that I don’t want to work forever. While I’m lucky to have a good job at a great company, becoming financially independent and not having to spend my entire life working for someone else has become more important to me. Once I realized that, I made a commitment to start taking retirement much more seriously.

As I started learning more about personal finance, I eventually developed a plan (which is still very much a work in progress) to have over a million dollars in a retirement account by the time I am in my 60s and then live off the dividend income. These days there are a lot of different options out there for building wealth and generating passive income. After reviewing several of these options, I decided to invest in the stock market and crowdfunded real estate, so for the most part the material on this site will cover these topics.

I’m just getting started as an individual investor, and although I am in my early 40s I still think I have plenty of time to save enough money to retire comfortably. My main goal for this website is to share what I learn as I go, and that this information will help out other people that are either in a similar situation or just new to investing and interested in learning more about building wealth or generating dividend income.

And now for the “fine print”. Please keep in mind that all content on this site is intended to be used and must be used for informational and entertainment purposes only. I’m definitely not a professional broker/dealer or an investment advisor, I have no access to non-public information about any of the publicly traded companies discussed on this site. I’m also not regulated by the Financial Services Authority, and you should always do your own research on any investment, including stocks, and not base any investment decisions or tax or legal advice on any of the content posted on this site. This site is here to simply share ideas and information that I learn over time. Some of this information is related to stocks, as well as other investments and strategies. No content on the site constitutes, or should be understood as constituting a recommendation to enter in any securities transactions or to engage in any of the investment strategies presented anywhere on the site. Accordingly, I will not be liable, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, in respect of any damage, expense or other loss you may suffer arising out of such information or any reliance you may place upon such information. I would also like to draw your attention to the following reminder about any investment you make (including stocks):

  1. The value of shares and investments and the income derived from them can go down as well as up.
  2. Investors may not get back the amount they invested, and the risk associated with some investment strategies is unlimited.
  3. Past performance is not a guide to future performance.

So that said, if you are here and you are still reading this thanks for stopping by. I hope you come back often and find this site useful or at the very least mildly entertaining. Most of the posts on this site will most likely be related to stocks, bonds or crowdfunded real estate, and I may post product reviews every once in a while as well.
